Is it permissible to hang some supplications to protect oneself against Satan
It is not permissible to do so. These are called charms. Allah’s Messenger Mohammed PBUH is reported to have said, ‘May a person who hangs charm not be protected. May the person who hangs a shell not be protected or left alone. Hang charms are an act of apostasy. Unknown words Roqya is also the same. It is not permissible to do so. Writing anything on a piece of paper, putting it in a charm is unlawful and non-Islamic. Hanging such items on a patient, a child or else, it is not permissible to do so, especially if these items were not from Quran. We need not to leave any room for suspicious acts. Allah, the Almighty legislated fine things for his slave-servants.
The only exception to this is the permissible Roqya as practiced and done by Allah’s Messenger Mohammed PBUH and his rightly guided companions only.
