Is it permissible to visit a magician who does not harm others by his magic?
A wife of a friend of mine is suffering black or evil magic done to her. He tried to treat her by various means to no avail. He was referred to a magician who treats with magic. But, he uses his magic to help others and benefit them only. Is he sinning by going to him to remove the black or evil magic of his wife?
Magic is one the most heinous major sins. It is rather an act of apostasy, especially if the magician uses Satan and satanic tricks to perform his black or evil magic. Allah stated in Quran, ‘And they followed [instead] what the devils had recited during the reign of Solomon. It was not Solomon who disbelieved, but the devils disbelieved, teaching people magic and that which was revealed to the two angels at Babylon, Harut and Marut. But the two angels do not teach anyone unless they say, “We are a trial, so do not disbelieve [by practicing magic].” (2:102)’
Learning the black or evil magic is an act of apostasy. This would drive a person out of Islam.
Remove black or evil magic by recitation of Quran and authentically reported supplications of Allah’s Messenger Mohammed PBUH. Use permissible medicines.
Be patient and perseverant and Allah, the Almighty would take care of your case.
