What is the wisdom of hanging supplications as fortification against Satan?
Question: Is it permissible to do so?
Answer: it is not permissible to do so. No verses from Quran nor Sunnah, practices and traditions supplications should be hung onto a person. These are called charms and they are not permissible to hang.
It is documented that Allah’s Messenger PBUH said, ‘If a person wears a charm may he not be protected.’ The same goes for all other hung items.
It is documented that Allah’s Messenger PBUH said, ‘[unknown] Roqya, charms and any other hung items are acts of associating others in the worship of Allah.’ all such items are not permissible in Islam.
No charms should be hung on a child, woman, ill person or else, even the hung item is an authenticated supplication.
A believing Muslim should avoid what is unlawful at all times. One should not innovate any innovated practices in Islam that was not practiced or condoned by Allah’s Messenger PBUH.
Use only lawful supplications and Roqya that is documented by Allah’s Messenger PBUH.
